how does your garden grow?

We spent most of our weekend planting what seemed like a million flowers and getting a little garden put together with Presley.  One side of our yard has just been an area of dirt and pretty much a wasted space as long as we’ve lived here.  I’ve really wanted to use the space to plant a little garden… and we finally made that happen.  We planted all of Presley’s favorites- tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, corn, watermelon and pumpkins!  We aren’t exactly green thumbs so we’ll see how this goes :)  I think the little gardener will have fun watching everything grow.  I know she had fun planting it all!

Watch out when this little gardener is “scooping” dirt.  It’s MUCH more like flinging dirt all over the place :)

What?  Don’t you plant marshmallows in your garden?  My Mom mentioned that Presley had told her she was going to plant corn, tomatoes, peppers and marshmallows in her garden a couple of days ago.  So we just had to.  I’m not sure where in the world she came up with that but we’re gonna have a little fun with it :)  I’m thinking they might eventually sprout into lollipops.  Oh, to have the imagination of a two year old!

In the next couple of days we’ll be adding one more tomato plant and some marigolds to help keep the bugs away.  Fingers crossed we keep everything alive! :)

  1. This is so much fun. She is not far off planting marshmallows, Uncle Jack planted spare ribs when we were kids. Just love the imagination and family project!!!
