Hope everyone had a great Turkey Day! We started our day off at my grandparent’s house for strawberry waffles and mimosas, went to my in-laws for our first dinner of the day then back to my grandparents for the second and last dinner of the day. I. Am. So. Full. Everything was so delicious! We’re pretty lucky to have amazing cooks on both sides of our family. I just wish it was acceptable to run around in your underwear like Pres did all night rather than feeling like your pants are about to blow a button. :)
We’re planning on spending today getting into the Christmas spirit. Donuts and coffee date to start the day then we’ll be off to get our Christmas tree! Some good friends of ours grow Christmas trees so we get the VIP treatment when it’s time to pick the perfect one. We’ll see what Pres and her little friend Emrey choose for us. :)
Speaking of getting into the Christmas spirit… I’ve decided that an advent calendar is a MUST when you have a little one. Pres literally asks me at least five times a day… every day if it’s Christmas yet. I’ve been gathering some little toys and crafts for her to open each day and I’m thinking it will really help her to understand how many days we have before Santa visits. While I was thinking of things to put in Presley’s advent calendar I got the idea of doing a beer version for Todd. I mean, the key to having a happy husband is an ice cold beer waiting for him when he gets home, right?? Especially when he checks the mail on his way in the house and gets the credit card bill with all of the holiday shopping damage on it ;)
It’s really easy to put together and gives you an excuse to try out some winter ales.
Happy Thanksgiving from my family to yours!
You can find the recipe for this yummy Dark Chocolate Caramel Oreo pie here. I made a miniature version without the salt. It’s definitely a go to for chocolate lovers!
Cheers to family and full bellies!
School has started, football is back and we have pumpkins on our front porch… yet I’m still in denial that fall has arrived. We’ve had such great weather that until really recently it’s still felt like summer. This summer has been so busy and for lots of different reasons kind of… well just weird. I’m never excited to see summer go but this year it feels like fall is a new fresh start.
Speaking of fresh start… our little girl STARTED PRESCHOOL. I’ll give you a second to let that sink in. I’m not sure how this has happened but it’s making me feel like we’ll be packing her up for college before we know it. I was a little nervous for her to start since she’s never really been around people she doesn’t know or people that aren’t family. Luckily she absolutely LOVES school. I mean LOVES it. Her teachers are the sweetest ladies and she is pretty smitten with them. She’s going to the cutest little preschool out in the country surrounded by farmland and horses :) It’s actually the same place my Dad went to Sunday School. He claims he was kicked out of that same Sunday School for literally climbing the walls so let’s hope P has a different experience. Ha!
^^We have to stop to chat with the horses and rename them everyday when I drop her off^^
^^Her “pack pack” is always loaded with all of her necessities. Lots of My Little Ponies :)^^
^^Right after she ditched me to get her name tag.^^

Waaaaay back in May we planted Presley’s little garden in our backyard. This wasn’t just any old garden, it was a garden complete with marshmallows (you can read that post here). We learned a couple of things about marshmallows this summer… they take a loooong time to grow and they are well worth the wait. Just ask Presley.
Lately I’ve been trying to take more videos and I’m so glad we caught this fun moment. Now that the little lady is a major chatterbox it’s fun to catch some of the cute things she says on video. I love her face when she finally notices that the marshmallow GREW!!! :)
